How much can your business save with VoIP? Voice over IP (VoIP) can provide significant savings for your business
Chances are, the term Voice over IP isn’t new to you. You’ve likely heard all about VoIP, and understand that simply put, it is telephone over the Internet. You may have even heard rumblings about the end of analog phone systems (the Public Switched Telephone Network, or PSTN – or as we’ve also heard, Plain Old Telephone Service). While we at Diallog do not believe the end is necessarily in sight for PSTN, there’s no doubt about it, analog is making way for IP phone systems.
There’s advantages of both options of course, and we at Diallog offer both business lines and PRIs, and Voice over IP services. For a great breakdown of each service, check out this article: The Difference Between VoIP and PSTN Systems. We recently discussed the advantages of VoIP in our blog post in the fall of 2016: Considering VoIP? Here’s Why it’s an Excellent Choice for Your Business.
Our number one reason for businesses is the significant cost savings a Voice over IP option can provide. But, just how substantial are these savings? Well, here are three examples of actual customer savings Diallog has communicated in 2016 – and trust us, it’s substantial.
First off, Diallog provides Voice over IP in two ways: SIP Trunking and Hosted PBX. SIP Trunking involves connecting with your existing telephony system (an IP PBX system that’s housed at your company), while Hosted or Cloud Based PBX is hosted externally from your company and requires no investment on your part. There are pros and cons to both solutions, and the great news is that whatever your organization’s situation, there’s a VoIP solution that works.
Here’s some tales from actual communication (names have been changed to protect the innocent!)
- Company A is a medium sized not for profit with 20 employees. The organization was paying more than $1,600 per month on their total telecom costs. By quoting on a Hosted PBX solution, the organization would save $950 a month (more than 60% in savings!) and over $50,000 over the term of the contract.
- Company B, a small business with 6 employees with five business lines. They were paying about $175/month for their telephone. Diallog quoted a SIP trunking solution that would connect with their existing hardware. The solution was nearly a 50% savings, resulting in $3,200 in total savings over their three year contract.
- Company C, a small organization that had a hefty $1,500 telecom monthly bill. Diallog quoted a SIP Trunking solution that leveraged their on premise PBX they invested in a few years prior, and provide nearly $900 in savings month over month, or $35,000 over the term of their agreement. That’s another example of 60% in total savings.
Now we realize that there are many other factors to consider before switching to Voice over IP, such as voice quality, dropped calls, and all the risks that come with moving from the rock solid and proven technology of the PSTN. However, with the many technological advances of IP phones, it may be time to consider a switch. And the economic impact can be significant.
